Nature Wander and Haiku Workshop for neurodivergent young adults

Come walk with us, be inspired by nature and create a Haiku for our autumn anthology. Sunday 13th October, 1-3pm.

Zac – our favourite fungi fun guy, poet, wildlife presenter, content creator and youth hub member – will be leading a mindful wander and haiku workshop in beautiful Coombe Wood, Croydon, CR0 5RE.

Hello lovely people, Haiku writing to me is a great way to relax, process different thoughts and use them to create something, and this event is a great way to get inspiration! It’s a very short and simple form of poetry to learn, and there will be prompts along the way to help you find something to write. Looking forward to seeing you.” – Zak

Booking required – click here for tickets on Eventbrite

Along the walk we will be taking notice of the colours, shapes and textures of autumn and using them as inspiration for our Haikus: those who don’t feel comfortable with poetry are welcome to draw instead – all materials will be provided.

Where will we start and finish?

We aim to leave from Lloyd Park tram stop at 12:45, and return there around 15:30, it’s about a 10 minute walk to Coombe Wood.

If you think you might be late, DM @Zakarillion or @jilliganito on Instagram, or text 07427 104674.

What do I need to bring?

Please wear suitable footwear for wet, rough ground and clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty! There is a cafe and toilet at the woods but do bring water and snacks that you need. All art materials will be provided.

Accessibility

This walk is unsuitable for wheelchair users, but for those with limited mobility and energy, there will be opportunities and places to rest. Coombe Wood is very hilly and in wet weather, it can be slippery underfoot. There will be company and support for those who would prefer to remain on flatter ground.

In case of wet weather

If there is rain, we will move the workshop to an indoor venue in Central Croydon: details will be shared via email and text on the morning of the walk.
