We are in the early stages of scoping wellbeing and support services for autistic and similarly neurodivergent women and people who were assigned female at birth (AFAB) who do not have learning (intellectual) disability.
These will possibly be centred around significant life milestones: pregnancy, early motherhood and (peri-) menopause, and taking place in Croydon and surrounds.
At the moment, we have an open mind to what is needed but we are confident that supporting women is a priority for our organisation and in our local area.
You need to identify as autistic or similarly neurodivergent (you do not need a formal diagnosis). We are particularly interested to hear from women who were late diagnosed in adulthood.
As a creative health and wellbeing organisation, we are particularly keen to shape ideas that allow for creative expression as part of, or alongside, exploring our neurodivergent identities and the challenges we can face.
You do not need to have any creative or artistic experience, just an open mind and enthusiasm to explore what it means to be autistic or similarly neurodivergent. For us, creativity can mean anything from drawing to dancing, crochet to cooking, gaming to gardening and everything in between.
We’ve prepared an explanation document which you can access here.
